"It's going to be a record breaking summer," that was the promise at the start of summer 2019.

We set out to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing tartan (plaid), a record that truly belonged to Kenora. We wear our plaid proud while shopping, at bonfires, fishing, hanging out with friends and family and of course while out for dinner.

Which is why on a hot and sunny July afternoon, 1,359 of us donned our best plaid and assembled on the harbourfront to be counted.

When the dusted settled Mike Marcotte, our official Guinness judge, announced that Kenora had set a new Guinness World Record!!
