The Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT) is proud to host Kenora’s first ever Colorectal Spring Screening event March 21st, 2017 – Drop in between the hours of 10am – 4pm.
This is an open house event for the general public – you do not need a family physician.
You’ll be able to: - Have some free refreshments - Learn about colorectal cancer - Learn about how you can lower your chances of getting this disease through diet, exercise, and leading a healthy lifestyle - Learn about the different methods of screening offered in Kenora (FOBT test, cologic bloodwork, colonoscopy) as well as the timelines per screening method - Learn more about the SCFHT and our programs - Learn about the other work the SCFHT Integrated Cancer Screening Committee is doing - And if you’re between the ages of 50 – 74, we have walk-in appointments available for you to discuss with one of our healthcare professionals if you need screening. If so, you can leave with a requisition for either an FOBT kit or a cologic bloodwork requisition (cost associated with bloodwork method)
