Esmé Boone has an honours degree in Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba and is well acquainted with harps, having ran Harp-Making Weekend Workshops since 2003. She is also the founder of Celestial Harps in Kenora and also has played the harp for over 30 years. Through the Small Waring Harps and many workshops, she has have introduced many people around Kenora and Manitoba (and even Australia and Scotland!) to the harp. She is also very active in the arts community in Kenora as a past LOWAC President and past board member of the Board for Visual Arts with the Kenora District Festival of the Arts.

In this presentation, Esmé will share her knowledge about the Waring Lap Harp. She will show participants how the small harp is made in one of her weekend workshop, and talk about the common pitfalls that can arise, when making your own at home without her guidance—especially useful while in this time of COVID. She will also share the music and stories of this magical little 19-string harp.

Come watch the presentation and join the discussion via Zoom.
