Members of the Kenora Aerialettes Gymnastics Club were in Red Lake and Winnipeg this weekend.
We had nine gymnasts at Fantastics Gymnastics Meet in Winnipeg Saturday and Sunday. They were competing against six different clubs from Winnipeg and the Manitoba area.
Julia Bender, Ally Krolyk, Maggie Moyer and Ashley Finck all finished in the top three in different events, while Ashley Finck was able to secure a third place finish all around in her age category.
This was the first competition for most of the girls this season, and they did a great job representing Kenora. Julia Bender had competed at the pre-provincial level at the Panthers Gymnastics meet in January of this year finishing with a second on floor and a fourth place all around in her age category.
Our junior competitive and senior advance girls were able to take part in their first 'Fun Meet' held in Red Lake this weekend, as well. It's a great experience for the girls to see what competitions are all about. They all did an excellent job and finished with top marks in many events.
The senior competitive girls will be traveling to West St. Paul March fourth to attend the Keystone Kips meet.
