The KCDSB's extended Hockey Skills Development Program hit the ice yesterday for their first practice of the season.
Nearly 75 students in Grades 4-6 signed up for the extended portion, which sees students practice twice a week.
One of those practices is offered from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as it was important to the schools that students miss as little class time as possible.
The schools participating are St. Louis and Pope John Paul.
Once the regular program gets underway in the new year the total number of students is expected to jump to 120.
