The Broncos won silver at the Kenora Invitational for junior boys basketball. Broden Ratcliffe talks about their key win over the Saints earlier in the day.
"We rotated really well on defence," he said afterwards.
The Broncos led from start to finish, as the Saints had difficulty getting inside on Beaver Brae's defence.
"We took out some of their key players, not allowing them to put up a lot of points," Ratcliffe noted. "We also did a good job grabbing a lot of offensive and defensive rebounds and hustling back on defence. I think that's what won us the game."
With the win, the Broncos advanced to the final against Kildonan East from Winnipeg, while the Saints moved to the bronzemedal game against the Warriors from Sioux North.
"It feels really good, because we're the two high schools in Kenora, and there's a huge rivalry," Ratcliffe added.
At the end of the day, the Warriors from Sioux North defeated the Saints for bronze.
