The Saints are off to a great start at the provincials in girls volleyball. They defeated both Timmins and Le Caron in straight sets yesterday. It puts them in good shape for a playoff run, as they go into Game 3 of the round-robin this morning.
Fans can watch the Saints at T.A. starting at 10 a.m., when they take on the U of T schools. The tournament wraps up with the finals on Wednesday.
Off the court, Saints coach Megan Derouard is also the tournament's convenor, and she offers a bit of feedback from visiting players.
"They are having an amazing time. They've been out on the ice roads. They've loved the sculptures. They cannot believe the event we've put on. They say it's top-notch," she said.
Derouard is also a Saint alumni, who has been instrumental in shaping the new venue at the soccer complex.
"It was my dream to do this, but dreams don't come true without a village of people, and I've had a great team behind me to make this a reality," she continued.
