Men's and women's teams are playing hockey at Shoal Lake 40 this weekend.
"Oh yeah, it's an experience for sure," said Deon Sumner, as he talked about driving across the ice road to the man-made island.
The tournament is one of many leading up to the Lil' Bands next month in Dryden, as well as the North American in Kenora on the Easter long weekend.
"It's a good turnout so far. We've won our first one. We play again tonight (Saturday). If we lose we're out," he said with a bit of a grin.
In all, 22 men's and women's teams came out for the weekend.
