It was a month of medals for Kenora’s Lisle Compton. The Kenora Nordic and Biathlon Club member won two gold medals from nationals. She finished the season as the top junior skiing female in the country.

The Queen Elizabeth Warriors boys hockey team were named as the NorWOSSA champions, after taking down the Muskies in Fort Frances in double overtime.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs were able to clinch the top spot in the SIJHL, at the culmination of the regular season. After 56 games, Dryden finished with 40 wins against 8 losses, for a total of 88 points.

Lastly, local ski club enthusiasts were able to enjoy the annual year-end splashdown at Mount Evergreen, complete with a slush pit.
