The all-nations health committee is moving forward.
"We're excited with where we're going and our direction," says city council member Rory McMillan.
The commitee is led by Anita Cameron at the health access centre, as well as Henry Wall from the district services board. They include First Nations, Metis and municipal leaders in discussions about patient transfers, doctor recruitment and the construction of a new hospital building.
"It's still an active committee. We have our ups and downs like any committee does," McMillan added, noting they've had some succcess in attracting new physicians.
Mayoralty candidate Dan Reynard has agreed to join the monthly meetings for the committee.
