Local reservists with the Canadian Armed Forces are back from a community engagement tour around the region. Residents were able to learn more about joining the Canadian Armed Forces, and were able to interact with a real-life Howitzer.
“We toured the region to say hi to everybody enjoying their summer. We had a recruitment booth and were able to partake in some community relations,” said Sergeant Kevin Allard, with Kenora’s 116th Independent Field Artillery.
“Moosefest was our first stop. We went to Red Lake’s Norseman Festival afterwards. We then went to Fort Frances for a fish derby. It was a lot of fun. We’ve been able to meet with a lot of people."
Sergeant Allard added that reservists were at the City of Dryden’s Winter Festival earlier this year.
