The City of Kenora is advising residents about repairs to multiple bridges in the area, which are expected to cause traffic delays or closures.
The Norlen Bridge on Anderson Road will be temporarily closed to all traffic until September 6, as crews work to repair the deck surface. Motorists are advised to use Carlton Road as a detour route.
Work will also be beginning this week on the Darlington Bay Bridge. The bridge has been reduced to one lane for at least the next two months, as the city is replacing the concrete barrier walls along the bridge. Traffic lights are installed to help lessen the traffic delays, and residents are urged to travel slowly.
The Seventh Avenue South Bridge repairs are also starting up again. The temporary pedestrian bridge has already been removed, and the new bridge installation project is underway. As the project moves forward, boaters on Laurenson’s Creek can expect delays throughout July. The new bridge is expected to be in place by the end of August.
The city would like to thank the public for their patience during these infrastructure projects.
