Kenora MP Bob Nault's glad to see families in need getting help from Ottawa through a federal program.
"This has been very helpful in our riding to a lot of families," he said. "Some 15,000 children have been helped with the child benefit and some $73 million has come into the riding."
Families are encouraged to call the MP's office, if they need help applying for the program.
"There are still a lot of people, who don't understand the process," Nault said.
The MP added his staff are willing to help families, who need help applying for the program. He emphasized a key part of the application process is filing your income tax.
For eligible families with children under six, the benefit is worth $6,500 a year. It's worth $5,800 for children seven or older.
