fans ice dogsHockey fans in Dryden are looking forward to a treat. Both Chris and Sean Pronger have agreed to be part of a benefit for the DREAM Fund.

Marnie Oliphant says members of the fundraising committee for the arena are really excited.

"They're looking forward to it," she said. "They said it was very important for both of them growing up. A big part of their life."

Janice Radburn talks about the need for upgrades, noting many of the eight existing dressing rooms have shared doors to shower or washroom areas. She says this limits privacy.

When the arena was built, the designers didn't anticipate the increase in girls hockey and the need for separation, Radburn said.

Dryden's DREAM Fund has already raised more than $25,000 for upgrades to the Memorial Arena. The benefit is set for Wednesday, July 26, at the agricultural building.
