The City of Kenora has released some stats and figures from the 2018 Municipal Election.
The city had 49.8 per cent turn out of voters. Of the 5317 people who voted, 5296 voted in Canada, 18 voted from the US, and 3 people voted from the UK.
Most people voted online. Of the 89 per cent who voted online, 61 per cent used a computer and 39 per cent used their mobile device.
9 per cent of people chose to vote by phone. 10 per cent used the help centre and were assisted by the elections team to vote online.
The highest number of votes were cast on election day, October 22. Most people voted between 10 a.m. and noon, or in the early evening before 7 p.m.
The fasted voting time recorded was 10 seconds by internet. The average time to vote by internet was 2.7 minutes. For those who voted by phone, the average time to vote was 4.9 minutes.
