Rain is expected for much of the day today in northwestern Ontario. Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson talked about the forecast.
"We've got a cold front moving through the area and that's kicking off some shower and thunderstorm activity around Lake of the Woods. That front will continue to move eastwards throughout the day today," he said.
Coulson said things should clear up later tonight.
"Chance of showers and a chance of thunderstorm through about the mid-afternoon hours and then things should quiet down after that. That sets us up for a pretty quiet night tonight. Just a few clouds around, and temperatures falling down to around 8 degrees, which around where we should be for this time of year," he said.
Tomorrow's forecast is a high of 17 with lots of sunshine for back to school.
