Forecaster Geoff Coulson says there's good weather ahead for the weekend.
"A lot of variable weather for the next 24 to 36 hours," he said Tuesday morning. "We're already seeing on the radar some shower activity more to the northeast of Lake of the Woods."
While the Dryden area could expect rain during the day, Coulson said showers were also possible overnight for the Lake of the Woods.
The humidex was expected to hit 35 C as the heat and humidity continued, and severe thunderstorm warning was issued by Environment Canada earlier today.
After a break tomorrow morning, Coulson anticipated more showers ahead for tomorrow afternoon.
Heading into the weekend, however, conditions are expected to get back to normal. Coulson says cooler, drier weather is anticipated for Thursday and into the weekend. This, he says, will be good news for patient gardeners, who've had to wait longer than usual this spring for rain and warm weather.
