It's been a long time coming. The City of Dryden is set to complete the sale of land on Van Horne, so affordable housing for seniors can move ahead. The cooperative has been working on the development for about three years now. The sale is on the agenda for the city's committee of the whole tonight.

Kenora Mayor Dave Canfield is also on the agenda. He's set to visit Dryden council tonight with Dean Caron of FP Innovations, as they give a presentation on forestry. They've been making the presentation about the positive side of forestry for more than a year now.

Dryden fire chief Ken Kurz has been with the service as chief and deputy chief for a quarter-century now, and city councillors are set to honour Kurz, during a short ceremony this evening. In all, Kurz has been with the fire service for 39 years.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at city hall.
