The Treaty Three Police Service has given the most back to the community for the second year in a row, during the annual Stuff a Boat challenge.
The four-week competition is hosted by Making Kenora Home and Safeway, and pits emergency services against each other to raise the most amount of food donations and cash for those in need.
The Treaty Three Police Service brought in 960 pounds of food, and close to $1,400 in cash. They beat out the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources’ Fire Management Team, the City of Kenora Fire Department, the OPP and Kenora Emergency Services.
The donations from the event were sent to the Salvation Army, Minto Parent Child Resource Centre, Jubilee Church and the Kenora Fellowship Centre. Participants raised over $2,300, and close to 2,600 pounds of food. K-Sports Marina provided the boat to fill each week.
The trophy presentation is set for September 5 at 11 a.m., in front of Safeway.
