Development plans for the old Minaki Lodge are still moving ahead. Bob Banman from Minaki on the River says they'll be modifying their plans, after last week's tribunal ruling.
"People need to know there are still some options out there, and I think something's going to happen shortly out there," he said yesterday.
One of the key issues in development plans has been the use of a communal water treatment plant. The process has been more complicated, due to the fact it's in an unincorporated area.
The previous plan called for 138 cottage lots and a commercial property on the old lodge property. However, cottagers have expressed concerns about the plan, saying the infrastructure and services in place weren't sufficient. Hearings also included input from nearby First Nations and businesses.
The old lodge burned in 2003. While there are plans to bring back the restaurant, a restoration of the golf course isn't in the picture, Banman noted.
