Steve Garrett of Black Sturgeon is lobbying city hall in Kenora, as he opposes plans for more gravel pit operations in the area.
"You can see our whole community is surrounded by it," he said, estimating about 20 properties were involved. "It's a real eyesore."
After the delegation, Mayor Dan Reynard offered assurances no decisions had been made, and the proper process was being followed.
"There's not thousands and thousands of yards being drawn out, but you have to respect the process and the concerns of the neighbours," he said.
According to the city, gravel from the pit is used for water and sewer repairs.
