The province is working with a local contractor on Highway 525. It connects Minaki with Whitedog First Nation.
It's currently overflowing with water, but the MTO expects one lane to be open later today.
"Safety is our top priority. The contractor and MTO staff are onsite assessing damage. Once water levels recede, crews will begin repairs," said Annemarie Piscopo, on behalf of MTO.
The timeline for reopening is dependent on the water level dropping, but the ministry anticipates the highway will be open to one lane later today.
The flooding is located on Hwy. 525 Southbound at Cygnet Lake Trailer Park Road, about 14 km from Hwy. 596 junction. Both lanes are currently closed, due to the flooding.
