Police have reopened Highway 71 to Sioux Narrows in both directions. The road was closed, as part of a police investigation.
The OPP aren't releasing details of their work, except to say there was a single-vehicle collision and there were no fatalities.
As a result of the highway closure, about 35 students from Kenora schools were turned back, as their buses weren't able to get through the roadblock.
Staff with the Kenora Catholic and Keewatin-Patricia school boards say the students were safe at all times, and family in the Kenora area are looking after the students overnight.
The highway was open again in both directions around 10 p.m., allowing traffic to resume normal flow.
