The Kenora Detachment of the OPP is warning residents of an ongoing jewelry scam in the area. Police say that they have been made aware of fake gold jewelry being sold to residents.
Reportedly, individuals driving a small, grey hatchback vehicle have approached Kenora residents to try to sell them fake gold jewelry, that has an 18K stamp. The individuals say that they are trying to use the money to get back to Montreal. Police say that the jewelry has been validated at a local jeweler as fake.
