Treaty 3 artist Robert Kakaygeesick says his art work reflects his belief in a traditional way of life.
"If you ask grandfather spirits, they'll come to you. If you ask grandmother spirits, they'll come to you," he said, as he explained imagery in some of his recent watercolours.
Kakaygeesick was a special guest at the youth summit in Kenora, where he got help from his three-year-old granddaughter.
"I had a dream about baby thunderbirds," he said, with help from his granddaughter, Nix, who started to cry.
"They have lives, too" he added with a grin.
Kakaygeesick's art has been sold across North America, with a large piece showcased at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
