Two restaurants in Kenora have been broken into in the early hours of the morning this month.
Paul Van Belleghem, Kenora OPP acting inspector and detachment commander, discusses the situation.
“It's a bit of an anomaly,” Van Belleghem says. “We always tell businesses at any time then can to protect themselves by making sure that their buildings are secure. We strongly suggest alarm systems, and really encourage businesses to consider internal cameras.”
Van Belleghem adds that cameras are not only a great deterrent to prevent people from breaking in, but they also go a long way in helping police investigate if an incident does take place.
Police released surveillance photos taken of the suspects who broke into the Log Cabin Tavern in the early morning hours of Apr. 3.
Another restaurant on Second St. South was broken into and had cash stolen early Monday morning.
