The City of Kenora is celebrating top honours in two categories at a recent regional water quality conference. Kenora’s drinking water won first place in the blind taste test, and a water and wastewater trivia challenge.
“Winning the best tasting water test in Northwestern Ontario is an honour and a testament to our well trained staff. Not only is our water the best tasting, but more importantly, the public can be confident that the water they drink and consume every day is safe,” says Mayor Canfield.
As the winner of the blind taste test, the city received $500 towards their lab testing services in the city.
Three operators from the city’s Water and Wastewater Divisions and Treatment Plants attended the annual Northwestern Ontario Water and Wastewater Conference in Thunder Bay last month. The conference offers education and training for water professionals to ensure that they are up to date on issues regarding the safe treatment of water and wastewater.
