Boaters on Laurenson's Creek can expect delays Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., as contractors complete their work.
Boat traffic will be controlled by flag persons on the creek and boaters can expect delays of up to 20 minutes at a time.
The delays are necessary to accommodate the installation of the deck panels for the new Seventh Avenue South Bridge. Work began on the bridge in March, and they hoped to be done by the end of August.
Following a 2014 inspection by WSP Canada Inc., the bridge was determined to be in the worst shape in the city. The consultants recommended the bridge be replaced within the next three years. The contract worth roughly $1.2 million was awarded to MD Steele Construction.
