Councillors Rory McMillan and Colin Wasacase have filed their nomination papers. McMillan has been serving on Kenora city council since before amalgamation in 2000.

Wasacase has served as councillor for Kenora and Keewatin for more than 40 years. There are now six candidates for Kenora council, but only one so far for mayor, and that's Dan Reynard. Municipal elections are set for late October.
