An alert motorist and quick response by firefighters limited damage at Moncrief Construction on Redditt Road Monday night.

"Very minimal damage -- a little water damage -- but it was a good response and a lot of good work by the crews," said Kenora's fire chief, Todd Skene.

A passerby reported flames showing around 11:30 p.m., according to the fire chief, who was pleased to see his firefighters were able to knock down the fire, before it could ignite any of the combustible material nearby.

Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) is a general contractor specializing in power and communications line construction, industrial electrical work, heavy civil construction, and aggregate production. The company recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
