A former Kenora resident is celebrating her Emmy win. Liz Mortham works for Entertainment Tonight, which recently won its fourth Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment News Program.
Mortham's team was nominated and won the award as a Segment Producer. She says that the role encompasses writing and helping with story ideas. The St. Thomas Aquinas Alumni says that her time spent at the high school directly led to her life in Los Angeles.
“I was very lucky to grow up in Kenora. I had a love of theatre, and the teachers at St. Thomas Aquinas and my family really supported that. I did a lot of theatre, from there I knew that I wanted to get into television. I went to University to study theatre, and then I moved. It was really hard in the first year, but I met somebody at the restaurant that I was serving at that helped me get here.”
Mortham has been working for Entertainment Tonight for four years. She works under the Executive Producer for the show, Sharon Hoffman.
