Kenora MP Bob Nault says relief is coming, in terms of new housing units in the district.
"We're in the process now of just finalizing a number of those initiatives, and we'll start seeing the construction of housing around the district," he said Friday.
The MP noted discussions earlier in the month at the Kenora District Municipal Association, which touched on the importance of housing as a key ingredient for economic growth.
Nault says five projects are in the works, including three that will get underway this summer. One of the projects calls for about 100 new units for the City of Kenora area, Nault adds.
When completed, they would be the first social housing units built in more than a generation.
