After getting sworn into office over the weekend, Kenora Mayor Dan Reynard has to get right to work.
"Obviously, the budgets are going to be coming up quickly. We're going to have to make a decision on what direction we're going with the Cannabis Act, then getting everybody used to their committees and going from there," he said.
Reynard succeeds Dave Canfield in the mayor's chair. He's joined by three returning councillors from last term -- Rory McMillan, Sharon Smith and Mort Goss -- two returning to council -- Andrew Poirier and Chris Van Walleghem -- as well as a new voice in Kirsi Ralko.
Van Walleghem says he's over the drama of the election, and he's ready to help govern.
"It was close some of the votes, but we managed to persevere and get in," he said.
Van Walleghem made the cut by just one vote.
