Kenora MP Bob Nault is glad to see an increase in the budget for the Nutrition North program.
"Until we get all-weather roads -- and abilities to move up by road and reduce the cost of food -- this is the alternative solution to that, until that eventually comes to the northwest and the northern part of our riding," he said.
In their fall financial update, Ottawa announced the program would be serving more communities, as a result of the budget increase. It now sits at more than $62 million over five years.
In the district, Nutrition North includes a number of First Nations in Nishnawbe Aski Nation.
