A&W Restaurants in Kenora and Dryden have raised over $27,000 to fight against multiple sclerosis.
Last week, A&W Restaurants around the nation participated in the Burgers to Beat MS Day, and the third annual MS Walk. In Kenora, the two events raised just over $16,700. In Dryden, the restaurant raised roughly $10,700.
MS is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that affects 1 in every 385 Canadians. Canada has one of the highest rates of MS, and women are 3 times more likely to get the disease.
Kenora has raised over $72,000 in the last nine years, and have been top five in fundraising for three of the last five.
