Over the weekend, approximately 30 Unifor members at ParaMed Home Health Care in Dryden, Ear Falls, and Red Lake voted 100 per cent in favour of taking strike action to achieve a new collective agreement.
ParaMed Home Health Care is a private for-profit company that provides health and home support services across the region.
The last agreement expired in June. Unifor spokesman Steve Boon said there had been a breakdown in conciliated talks and there would likely be a filing of "bargaining in bad faith" charges against ParaMed.
Members will be preparing for strike action by the first week of March.
