Ottawa is bustling once again as parliament resumes. Kenora MP Bob Nault says the Liberal government will be focusing on the things they would like to accomplish before the election next fall.
"I think this will be a very interesting parliament session because everyone will be very focused on the election coming up next fall. Even though it's a good year away, because that's the way it sort of works in this business," he said.
He talked more about what will be on the agenda.
"I think the emphasis will be on getting things accomplished. Thinking about the economy, making sure we're competitive," he said.
Over the summer, Nault took the time to visit communities in the riding, including rural first nations.
"One of the things that I always promote, is the importance of listening to people you represent. If you don't talk to them the obviously you won't get a sense of what they expect of you," he said.
Nault said some of the things that were discussed with communities over the summer were basic infrastructure needs, healthcare, and employment training for indigenous youth.
