Police have charged a 27 year old in a hit and run death from 7 years ago.
On April 30, 2011, police began investigating a fatal single motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Shoal Lake 40 First Nations Territory. The investigation was completed and it was determined based on the evidence review at the time, there was insufficient evidence to lay a criminal charge.
As a result of new information received, the investigation was re-opened.
On October 18, 2018, Ricky Green of Shoal Lake #40 First Nations was arrested by members of Treaty Three Police Service and Kenora OPP and charged with Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident contrary to Section 252(1)(b) of the Criminal Code in the death of Daniel Green.
