Kenora OPP are releasing more details, after Beaver Brae was locked down over the noon hour.
At about 11:45 a.m., members of the detachment responded to Beaver Brae Secondary School to a report of a weapon on school property.
The OPP immediately advised nearby schools, as a precaution and searched the area.
As a result of the search, a 15-year-old male was arrested, but he was later released, after it was learned the weapon was an airsoft -- or pellet -- gun.
The OPP would like to remind the public that carrying any replica, model or air gun resembling a real gun will be treated seriously, and it will be seen as a threat to public safety by police until proven otherwise.
