Warmer then normal temperatures have hit the northwest region. Peter Kimbell from Environment Canada talked about the spike in temperatures.
"Very pleasant for this weekend, two weekends before Christmas. A high of plus 1 today, a high of plus 5 tomorrow, Saturday. Way above normal. The normal high for this time of year would be about minus 10. A very pleasant weekend," he said.
Kimbell did warn that things should drop back down Sunday.
"Sunday won't be that bad. Right now we're saying sunny skies and a high of minus 6. That is probably going to change, it will probably be more cloud then sun on Sunday," he said.
Kimbell said by Monday we should be back to seasonal, but added that temperatures are expected to jump back up to the warmer side Tuesday.
