The Kenora Catholic District School Board is losing about $219,000 in funding this year thanks to cuts to a fund called the Education Programs - Other (EPO).
Manager of Business Services Alison Smith says the board should be okay despite the cuts.
"It's not going to hurt the board. Because we didn't know the information at the beginning we didn't budget expenditures for it. But it does impact programs we had last year that are no longer being done this year, just based on the EPO funding," she said.
In December, the Ontario government announced they were cutting $25 million from the $400-million Education Programs-Other (EPO) portfolio.
Not all EPO programs are offered by every school board in the province so the effect of the reduced funding will affect each school board differently.
