Everyone is getting ready for their long weekend. Fire Information Officer Chris Marchand, with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says it can be a busy weekend for campfires.
"As we head into the long weekend, it's a time when a lot of people are out on the landscape enjoying the outdoors, and that presents a higher potential for human caused fires. We're asking that everyone use caution out there and keep an eye on conditions in their area," he said.
He added the hazard level can change quickly.
"At the present time the fire hazard is low to moderate in the region. A few nice days can really rebound those high hazard conditions in a hurry," he said.
The forest fire hazard is high in the southwest portions of the region and low to moderate in the remainder of the region.
