Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford is defending his government's new plan for greenhouse gases.
"The plan has effectively aligned our targets with the federal government's, which the current government had adopted from prime minister (Stephen) Harper's," he said.
Rickford -- who was the Natural Resources minister under Stephen Harper -- is now the provincial minister for energy, northern development and mines, as well as Indigenous Affairs.
He says the province's goals match the ones set under the Paris Accord.
Yesterday, the minister also announced he was inviting the Competition Bureau to investigate price-fixing in the district. He has previously noted he wouldn't tolerate the high prices being charged motorists on this side of the Manitoba border.
