Kenora-Rainy River MPP and Northern Development Minister Greg Rickford recently declared Northern Ontario open for business.
"We have a Premier and a caucus that wants to ensure that Northern Ontario is as much open for business as any part of this province. They know what we can contribute when we make targeted and strategic investments," he said.
He talked about some of the things they're hoping to gain.
"To ensure it doesn't take seven years for a mine to open. To ensure that by reducing red tape, our forest sector and our mining sector has a chance to respond to the market today," he said.
Minister Rickford will be in Kenora today to make an announcement regarding transportation fuel prices.
