Edit: The original story stated that Ontario Power Generation installed the new safety measures. Q104 and KenoraOnline apologize for the mistake.
H20 Power has installed new booms at McLeod Park in Kenora. They warn of dangerous currents in the area.
New fencing has also been installed to prevent access from the park to the shoreline near the train bridge. It was the site where two visitors drowned earlier this year, after they slipped off the shoreline and into the water.
In early July, 19-year-old Arwinder Brar and 20-year-old Pawan Preet Brar lost their lives in the water near McLeod Park.
