The Kenora Detachment of the OPP have laid second degree murder charges to a former Kenora resident, after an altercation in February.
On February 26, shortly after 8 a.m., members of the Kenora OPP responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence on the 800 block of Railway Street. The female victim has been identified as 77-year-old Brenda Richardson from Fort Frances, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trenton Richardson, a 26-year-old male and former Kenora resident, was charged with assault causing bodily harm. Now, the OPP have charged Richardson with second degree murder. He is currently being held in custody while police continue to investigate.
