Seven Generations Education institute have partnered with The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada and the Martin Family Initiative to bring a new financial literacy pilot project to Kenora in 2019.
This program provides information and tools to help adults manage their personal finances and gain the confidence they need to make better financial decisions.
The pilot will include approximately 20 hours of in-class programming on topics such as budgeting, banking, credit and debt management.
Following the pilot, FCAC, SGEI and MFI will evaluate feedback from students and instructors. The partners will apply lessons learned to improve the program in preparation for offering it to other Indigenous communities and educational organizations.
