Thunderstorms are expected to develop across the region today, tonight and tomorrow. Residents can expect stormy weather with rain and high winds.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng details the upcoming forecast.
“A system is moving through the area, bringing unsettled weather. It doesn’t mean that rain will fall all day, but we are expecting thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and tonight. The rain fall amount is expected to vary.”
Cheng notes that the stormy weather isn’t expected to last long though.
“The system should be moving out of the area fairly quickly. By Sunday, we should see sunshine and more fair weather.”
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued late yesterday afternoon, which called for severe thunderstorms, high winds, hail and heavy rain. The watch has been rescinded, as that storm seems to have missed the area.
