The Kenora OPP have arrested a resident following a heavy police presence in the Rabbit Lake area of Kenora, after firearms were fired.
At approximately noon, members of the Kenora OPP were dispatched to a report of a firearm being discharged in the Kirkpatrick Avenue area of Kenora. Police, the Emergency Response Team and K-9 Unit responded immediately, and one male was taken into custody.
“There’s no injuries at this time, and there is no active search for suspects at this point,” said OPP Constable Jason Canfield.
“Everything’s fine right now. We’re still holding the scene for investigative reasons, but anyone in the area can go home. We have no concerns for public safety at this point.”
