The gym at Pope John Paul was transformed into a winter powwow yesterday afternoon. Shawl dancer Dawn Keewatin describes her pale blue dress.
"It has lots of patterns. It's my favourite dress," she said with a smile, noting she also has a jingle dress.
The diamond patterns with a border that features people in their houses is symbolic, she explains.
"The people in their houses represents the people I am talking for and dancing for," she added.
Keewatin has family in Grassy Narrows and Whitedog, and she's looking forward to the summer powwow trail.
